1. Sections of your small snapshots are enlarged on the final portrait. The quality of your portrait is determined in part by the quality of your snapshots. We cannot make a fuzzy photo look in-focus. The best quality photos meet these requirements:

• Your pet is large in the frame (occupies 80% or more of the total photo area).
• The color photo is 4" x 6" or larger.
• Your pet is photographed against a plain-colored or solid background.
• There is good contrast between the pet and the background.
• The subject in the photo is in focus.
• Critical parts of your pet are not cut off.
• Do not write on front or back of your photos. If you need to label your photos, write on a post-it then tape it to the photo. Make sure the ink is dry before stacking your photos together in an envelope.
• Place a piece of cardboard on both sides of the photos to prevent damage in the mail. We are not liable for damage during transit.

2. Three photos are suggested for a pleasing composition. We highly recommend:

• A close-up of your pet's head
  Then, choose two more photos with different poses:
• A full body photo, either laying down or standing;
• Another full body photo either sitting, in action or with a favorite toy.

3. You may want to pose your pet to obtain the best results, especially for the close-up of its head. You can have another person hold the animal in position, as long as his or her body is behind the pet. We can cut out the person's hands if they are visible in the photo. Photograph your pet against a solid colored wall or sheet for a backdrop.

4. If you want to use one of your own background photos, please make sure it is in focus and the print size is at least 8" x 10". The background photo should be colorful.
